Richard Williams

Richard Williams

Having served an apprenticeship with Aston Martin Lagonda Limited at Feltham and Newport Pagnell, Richard then worked for Peter Sellers, who he had met at Feltham, running both his extensive and ever-changing number of road cars and a race team. He then formed his own company in 1968, restoring, servicing and selling Aston Martins. He became involved in racing Aston Martins when Lord Downe invited him to prepare and run his DBR1 and Project 212 sports cars and between 1982 and 1984 he managed Lord Downe’s Aston Martin Nimrod, finishing third in the World Sportscar Championship in 1982. During 1984 Richard constructed the famous Lightweight DB4s and from 1985 was team manager for Ecurie Ecosse, running its Group C2 cars, which won the C2 World Championship in 1986. In 1988 he became managing director and team manager of Proteus Technology, the Aston Martin factory’s World Sportscar Championship team. In 1990 R S Williams Limited re-formed and relocated to Cobham. Richard’s company has been instrumental in developing a number of specialist Aston Martins, including the Sanction II and Sanction III DB4GT Zagatos and the 6.3 litre and 7.0 litre V8 engines. In 2002 R S Williams Limited was appointed official Aston Martin Heritage dealer. With his vast experience, Richard Williams is one of the most respected names in the Aston Martin world.

Carol Williams

Carol is married to Richard and, as well as being a director of R S Williams Limited, has run the Accounts Department since 1979. She took over from Richard’s mother, who was a trained Accountant, and had been in charge of the accounts since the start of the company.

Neil Thompson

Neil Thompson

Neil is a Director of R. S. Williams Ltd and looks after the day-to-day running of the Company as Workshop Manager. He has worked for Richard since the early days in Brixton and was heavily involved with the rebuild and running of Lord Downe’s DBR1 and Project 212 cars through the ‘70s and ’80s. He helped prepare and run Lord Downe’s Nimrod for the 1982, ‘83 and ‘84 Group C seasons. He followed Richard to Proteus Technology where he became Crew Chief for the No18 AMR1 for the 1989 World Endurance season. When R. S. Williams Ltd re-located to Surrey he helped Richard set up the Cobham operation. Besides the general running of our Heritage operation he attends all GT4 European races with our GT4 Vantage race car.

Kathy Weston

Kathy has worked in the Accounts Department since 1982, managing the Sales and Purchase Ledgers and the Payroll. Kathy and Carol worked together in the 1970s before they both married and had children.

Andrew Sawyer

Andy Sawyer

Andy has been with R S Williams since we reconvened our facilities in Cobham. As a valuable member of the team, Andy’s roles are variable and his specialities are usually focussed on perfecting your car’s immaculate finish prior to collection. He also has a thorough understanding of the ever-evolving audio market and as a result can advise and install systems ideally matched to your requirements.

Brett Creed

Brett Creed

Joining us in 1991, Brett brings strong connections from his extensive motorsport experience. Brett continues his passion here, heading up our GT4 race team and managing historic racing in both team management, race preparation and on-track race engineering.

Fergus McIver

Fergus McIver

Fergus came to us in 1991 for work experience and was taken on later that year as an apprentice technician during the build of the much-coveted Sanction II DB4GT Zagatos. Over the years his responsibilities have grown to include air conditioning work, operating our website and in-house photography whilst remaining a specialist on V8 models.

Nick Soden

Nick Soden

Since his inception here in 1994, Nick has focussed his engineering background on vehicle electrics and electronics. Over the years Aston Martin electrics have evolved as technology has and Nick is our specialist able to turn his hand to suit any age of Aston Martin, catering for projects and upgrades, modifications and full re-wiring of you car’s electrical systems. He ensures the greatest possible reliability while retaining correct appearance of electrical systems for your car.

Graham McKenzie

Graham “Mac” McKenzie

In 1996 Mac brought to R S Williams a wealth of automotive knowledge spanning back several decades. He’s put this to good use in his limitless enthusiasm for bringing modern standard of comfort and refinement to the DB4 – DB6 range.

Mark Lewis

Mark Lewis

Mark came to RSW in 1997 after a four year engineering apprenticeship followed by 8 years restoring, developing, race-preparing and racing vintage cars. As our senior engine builder, Mark oversees the entire rebuild process of your engine, through dynamometer testing, fine tuning and road testing to ensure a perfect product. Mark also continues his passion for racing often assisting with race preparation and circuit support with both our GT4 and historic support teams.

Jacqueline Williams

Jacqueline Williams

Jacqueline is the daughter of Richard and Carol Williams and is also a Director of R S Williams Ltd. Responsible for car sales paperwork and management accounts, Jacqueline has worked for the company since 1998. Jacqueline has grown up with Astons but combines this with her love of horses. She also operates show-jumping stables in West Sussex with her husband Bruce Menzies.

Graham Cobbett

Graham Cobbett

In 1998 Graham joined our workshops in Cobham bringing with him considerable experience in the prestige and sports car industry, joining us directly from McLaren Cars production facility. As a valued senior technician, Graham carries-out servicing, mechanical rebuilds, restoration and performance upgrades.

Joining us in the machine shop in 1999, Richard brought with him 40 years of engineering experience and added an invaluable element to our production abilities.

Martin Parkinson

With a rich and diverse engineering background, Martin’s position in our cylinder head workshop since 2000 has strengthened our company profile prodigiously. Martin takes care of your engine’s cylinder head throughout its modernisation and upgrade processes.

Adam Johnson

Since Adam came to RSW in 2001, he has risen through the ranks of the parts department showing his keen passion to source Aston Martin parts for our clients and is now parts manager.

Arriving in 2004 in our engine build workshop serving his apprenticeship, Tony is now a qualified and dedicated engine builder and cares for your V8 engine to the highest and most meticulous standards.

Simon Eaton

Simon joined us in the parts department 2005 as parts assistant and has a keen eye on your parts orders.

Andy Keyser

Andy Keyser

After his tool-making apprenticeship, Andy forged a strong engineering background for four years and started with RSW in 2006 in our cylinder head machine shop. He has since moved on into our engine shop. His passion for cars serves him well with an enthusiasm for engine development and improvement.

Helen Channon

Helen Channon

Helen is the second eldest of Richard and Carol’s four daughters. She has been assisting in the Accounts Department part time since 2006 with general office duties.

Matt Farrant

Matt Farrant

Matt joined us in 2007 with 20 years’ experience in development engineering in the aerospace industry under his belt. He is now a key member of our engineering team involved in fabrication and modification invoking our policy of continual product improvement.

Kimmy Eyre-Varnier

Kimmy joins us from a top London Advertising Agency in Covent Garden, bringing to RS Williams 25 years’ experience as a P.A. Kimmy lives locally in Cobham with her son Henry and has a keen passion for cars.

Steve Nash

Steve has been in the motor trade since leaving college in 1977. He has always had a keen interest in classic cars and managed a classic car restoration company for several years. Drawing from a rich vein of experience throughout the industry, Steve’s addition as a mechanic to the RSW team adds to us valued wealth of knowledge.
