1987 V8 Zagato Conversion – Pt.1

1987 V8 Vantage Zagato

We recently sold this extremely rare 1987 V8 Vantage Zagato to a French client. The car is an immaculate, low mileage example with just 17,000 miles from new at present. A significant part of the work we are renowned for is big projects and this is no exception. The car was UK-specification, right-hand drive from new and besides a few cosmetic changes, was very much as it was when new. With just 50 examples ever produced, this exclusive supercar is to be made extra-special.

Its owner has specified the following upgrades:

A big part of these upgrades is the conversion to left-hand drive. The V8 Zagato lends itself rather well however to this conversion with surprisingly few parts required to complete the work. The original dashboard is used with a relatively simple change with a re-trim in Connolly hide. LHD steering racks are now thankfully available once more. A few components from the handbrake mechanism and throttle linkage require changes and of course the brake and clutch systems require new pipework. the rest is mostly dismantling and reassembly.

Here are some images highlighting progress on the list of conversion changes.
