Offered as a donor vehicle for restoration by R.S. Williams, this rare and historically significant V8 Volante Series 1 provides an outstanding basis from which to create a superb example. The scope, specification and level of restoration can be tailored to the requirements of its next custodian and discussed directly.
The factory build record confirms that this V8 Volante was produced for British Motors S.A. of Paris and completed in time to be displayed at the 1984 Paris Auto Salon. A commemorative plaque fitted to the centre console records the car’s appearance at the Salon International de l’Automobile in October 1984.
The car was originally specified in Windsor Red over Beige Autolux hide, accented by dark red piping and red carpeting, with a contrasting fawn hood. Following its appearance at the Paris Salon, the Volante was purchased later that month by its first owner, a Parisian gentleman residing on Avenue Foch.
Factory-equipped with the highly desirable ZF five speed manual gearbox, this left hand drive Volante is one of only a very small number produced in this specification. It retains its matching numbers 5.3-litre V8 engine.
The odometer currently displays 51,177 kilometres. Copies of the original factory build record and warranty agreement accompany the car, providing an excellent foundation for a thoroughly documented R.S. Williams restoration.
Please get in touch to discuss the vehicle and the restoration options available.
